Mohali office murder victim Dimple Khatri cremated in Patiala

Patiala/Mohali (Punjab), June 5, 2026: The last rites of Dimple Khatri, the 29-year-old woman who was brutally murdered by a colleague at her workplace in Mohali, were performed in Patiala on Friday amid an atmosphere of grief and shock.
According to a funeral notice issued by the family, Dimple, daughter of Raj Kumar Khatri of Lakshmangarh, was cremated at Veer Ji Muktidham, Patiala, on June 5 at 3:00 pm. The family received relatives, friends and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects to the young woman whose death has sparked widespread concern across Punjab.
Dimple was allegedly stabbed to death inside a private firm near Bestech Mall in Sector 66, Mohali, on June 4. Police have identified the accused as her colleague, Harvinder Mann alias Harry, who allegedly attacked her with a knife while she was working at her computer.
According to police, the accused inflicted multiple stab wounds on the victim before attempting to take his own life using the same weapon. Dimple later succumbed to her injuries during treatment, while the accused remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The shocking workplace killing has triggered outrage on social media and renewed concerns about employee safety, particularly for women in professional settings.
Police have registered a murder case and are examining all possible angles, including the motive behind the attack. Investigators have recovered the alleged weapon and collected forensic evidence from the crime scene.
