Six injured in HRTC bus accident in Kullu

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), October 3, 2026: Six people, including the driver and conductor, sustained minor injuries after a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus travelling from Manali to Pathankot met with an accident near the Police Lines in Kullu on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at around 6 am, when the bus, bearing registration number HP-38-9738, was travelling towards Pathankot. Four passengers, along with the driver and conductor, were on board at the time of the incident.
All six injured persons were taken to the Regional Hospital, Kullu, where they received medical treatment. According to preliminary information, none of them sustained serious injuries.
The injured passengers were identified as Shyam Lal (45) and Krishna Thapa (42), both residents of Kullu, and Chhaya Devi (25) and Rakesh Kumar (31), residents of Pathankot, Punjab.
The bus driver, Manmohan Singh (42), a resident of Kangra district, and conductor Praveen Singh (46), also from Kangra district, were also injured in the accident.
Local residents and police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident. Police inspected the site and initiated an investigation into the circumstances that led to the crash.
Kullu Superintendent of Police Abhishek S. said police were investigating the matter to determine the cause of the accident.
