Women Commission Raj Lali Gill reaches out to rural women; vows justice and empowerment
Ferozepur, June 26, 2025: Under the ongoing "Pind-Pind Mahila Commission" campaign, Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson Madam Raj Lali Gill visited the villages of Bagge Ke Pipal and Khushhaal Singh Wala in Ferozepur district. Assistant Commissioner (G) Harjot Kaur accompanied her during the visit.
Interacting with women, including Sarpanch Amandeep Kaur and Jasbir Kaur of the respective villages, Raj Lali Gill listened to their grievances and assured timely redressal. She emphasized that the Commission is actively reaching remote areas to ensure justice for women who cannot access the headquarters in Mohali. Local grievance redressal camps and public hearings are being organized to address issues on the spot. She reaffirmed that the Commission functions independently, without political pressure.
Highlighting the importance of women’s education, Gill stated that educated women are becoming the foundation of an empowered society and contributing significantly to Punjab’s development. She encouraged girls and women to be aware of their rights, pursue education, and inspire others to become self-reliant.
She also appealed to families to support girls’ education and ensure they stand on their own feet. “Women should not be confined to households; they must step into the mainstream to contribute to societal progress,” she said.
Gill assured that the Women Commission is committed to protecting women from violence and discrimination and urged victims to contact the Commission freely. She also invited women to meet her at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on the following day to share their concerns.
Several dignitaries and local leaders were present during the visit.
