BSF, Army, Police join border villagers in War Against Drugs, hold seminar at Gatti Rajo Ke
Ferozepur, August 19, 2025: A joint seminar was organised at village Gatti Rajo Ke by the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, and Punjab Police to raise awareness among residents about the menace of drugs smuggled from across the border. The event saw active participation from the Sarpanch, Panch members, and residents of 11 surrounding villages.
Addressing the gathering, Coy Com 155 BN BSF B.S. Negi said the land of martyrs like Bhagat Singh must inspire the youth to walk the path of sacrifice and service, not crime. He warned that a smuggler’s life is short, and involvement in illegal activities ruins not only the individual but also future generations. “If anyone is a traitor to the nation, he is also a traitor to his family,” he remarked, urging villagers to focus on education, agriculture, and nation-building.
Captain Devashish emphasised that the fight against drugs is a collective responsibility. He appealed to villagers to promptly report any information on drone drops or smuggling consignments instead of hiding it, assuring swift action from security agencies. “The future of our youth is in our hands, and only by guiding them on the right path can we save them from this short and destructive life in drugs,” he said.
Coy Com 99 BN BSF Rajesh Kumar, ASI Sukhbir Singh (Incharge Police Post Bare Ke), Block Gatti President Surjit Singh, and several panchayat members also addressed the gathering. Surjit Singh stressed that no villager should support drug smugglers, adding that parents suffer lifelong trauma when their children fall prey to addiction. Punjab Singh, Sarpanch of Kamale Wala, assured full cooperation with security forces in their mission against drugs.
The seminar concluded with a call for unity between villagers and security agencies to strengthen the ongoing war against narcotics and safeguard Punjab’s youth.
