SGPC employees to donate one day’s salary for flood relief

Amritsar (Punjab), September 2, 2025: In view of the devastation caused by floods in many parts of Punjab, employees of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have stepped forward to contribute towards relief efforts. The employees have collectively decided to donate one day’s salary to support the ongoing services being carried out by the SGPC for flood victims.
SGPC Secretary S. Pratap Singh said that the Sikh religious body has been actively engaged in relief work since the very first day of the floods.
“Our employees themselves are reaching out to the affected people and extending all possible help. In every natural calamity, SGPC employees have not only provided on-ground service but have also contributed a portion of their salaries to support the needy,” he said.
Singh added that, under the directions of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, employees have been working tirelessly for several days, often wading through floodwaters to deliver aid. Today, all employees came together to formally resolve to donate a day’s salary to the relief cause.
“The SGPC will continue its relief services until the situation normalizes,” Singh assured.
On the occasion, alongside Secretary Pratap Singh, others present included S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan (Secretary, Dharam Parchar Committee), Additional Secretary S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, S. Bijay Singh, Personal Secretary S. Shahbaz Singh, General Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Bhagwant Singh Dhangeda, Secretary S. Gurdial Singh, S. Gurnam Singh, S. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, S. Harbhajan Singh Vakta, S. Sukhbir Singh, Superintendent S. Nishan Singh, S. Malkit Singh Bahirwal, and several SGPC employees.
