Alert for Punjab train passengers! Many trains cancelled from October 12 to 14, some routes changed

Ferozepur (Punjab), October 10, 2025: Train services across Punjab will be disrupted for three days — from October 12 to 14 — due to major construction work on the Sahnewal–Amritsar section of the Firozpur Rail Division.
According to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sanjeev Kumar, the block has been scheduled to expedite the construction of a new railway bridge at gate number S-70, located between Jalandhar Cantt and Chiheru stations.
During this period, 13 trains will be affected — some will be delayed, others rerouted, and a few will be short-terminated.

- Train 14617 (Purnia Court–Amritsar Express) – delayed by 60 minutes.
- Train 14673 (Jaynagar–Amritsar Express) – delayed by 60 minutes.
- Train 19290 (Katra–Ambedkar Nagar Express) – delayed by 70 minutes.
- Train 22446 (Amritsar–Kanpur Central Express) – delayed by 60 minutes.
- Train 14674 (Amritsar–Jaynagar Express) – delayed by 70 minutes.
- Train 14505 (Amritsar–Nangal Dam Express) – delayed by 40 minutes.
- Train 12472 (Katra–Bandra Terminus Express) – delayed by 40 minutes.

- Train 12497 (New Delhi–Amritsar Express) will terminate at Phagwara and return to New Delhi as Train 12498.

- Train 22479 (New Delhi–Lohian Khas Express) will run via Ludhiana–Phillaur–Nakodar–Lohian Khas, skipping Jalandhar City.
- Train 19612 (Amritsar–Ajmer Express) will be diverted via Kapurthala and Lohian Khas to Ferozepur, skipping Phagwara and Jalandhar.
Railway officials have advised passengers to check updated train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the construction period.
