VWS students mark National Postal Day with Post Office visit
Ferozepur, October 10, 2025: To mark National Postal Day, Vivekananda World School (VWS) organized an educational visit to the local post office for the students, aimed at introducing them to the functioning of India’s vast postal network.
The students were warmly welcomed by the Postmaster, who explained that India Post operates one of the largest postal systems in the world. During the visit, they observed various sections including the sorting center, speed post counter, money order department, and passbook update section.
The young learners also discovered the continued importance of postal services in the digital age — from rural banking and parcel delivery to Aadhaar-related services. They prepared envelopes, affixed stamps, and posted letters in the mailbox, gaining hands-on experience of the postal process.
Adding a creative touch, the students designed colorful postcards carrying messages like “Thank You Postal Department” and “Letter Writing is a Beautiful Art.”
School Director, Dr. S. N. Rudra, highlighted the significance of the visit, stating, “The postal department is not just a medium for delivering letters but a strong link that connects hearts. Through this visit, students experienced service, communication, and social responsibility.”
The program proved to be both educational and inspiring, instilling respect for community services and giving students real-life exposure beyond classroom learning.
