Both Commissions have assured the family not only of strict action against those accused, but also emphasized their commitment to a swift, thorough investigation.

To show they care, the heads of Punjab's women and child protection groups, Raj Lali Gill and Kanwardeep Singh, went on Wednesday to comfort the family of the young girl who was harmed in Jalandhar City.
With profound grief in their hearts, they reached out to the family offering condolences that ran deep. The loss, they acknowledged, was beyond repair, and they assured the family that through this dark hour of anguish, the Punjab Government would stand unwavering by their side.
They assured the grieving parents that the accused involved in the crime would face the iron hand of law, reiterating that the government is fully committed to ensuring justice.
Ms. Gill and Mr. Singh urged that the case be taken up in a fast-track court to ensure the earliest possible conviction of the accused.
They affirmed the Commission's intent to formally recommend a speedy trial, pushing the Punjab Government toward swift legal closure. "We will raise this matter at the highest level," they declared, "ensuring both stringent action and the timely justice this case demands."
Highlighting the progress of the investigation, they informed the family that the Police have already secured nine days’ remand of the accused, while forensic teams have gathered crucial evidence to strengthen the case in court.
They added that any lapse or negligence during the investigation would be unacceptable, and strict action would be taken against erring officials.
Later, they met Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur to review the Police action taken so far. During the meeting, they emphasized the need for a swift, transparent investigation and reiterated the demand for a fast-track trial to ensure justice without delay.
Deputy Director Gulbahar Singh Toor, DPO Manninder Singh, DCPO Ajay Bharti were also present on the occasion.
