Chandigarh, February 6, 2026: The Congress party has expelled former MLA Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, from the party.
An official letter regarding her expulsion has been issued by Bhupesh Baghel, Punjab Congress in-charge, confirming her removal from the party’s primary membership.
Expulsion Follows Suspension
It is noteworthy that Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu had earlier been placed under suspension as part of disciplinary action. However, the party high command has now taken a tougher stance by terminating her primary membership altogether.
A few days ago, Dr Sidhu had publicly claimed that she had quit the Congress party, following which tensions between her and the party leadership escalated. According to party sources, she had been repeatedly making statements against party policies and leadership, which was viewed as an act of indiscipline.
