Amritsar (Punjab), March 21, 2026: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the death of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation District Manager Dr Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, questioning whether the resignation of minister Laljit Singh Bhullar would bring justice to the grieving family.
Badal alleged that the officer was driven to suicide due to severe physical and mental harassment, claiming that Randhawa was assaulted at the minister’s residence.
He said that in his final video, the officer had named the minister and described the pressure, coercion, and humiliation he allegedly faced.
Demanding strict action, the SAD leader called for a murder case to be registered against the minister and urged that the investigation be handed over to the CBI to ensure a fair and impartial probe.
Badal also visited the family of the deceased in Amritsar to offer condolences. During his visit, he alleged that the police were hesitating to register an FIR based on the family’s statements.
He said he had spoken to the Director General of Punjab Police and asserted that he would remain at the family’s residence until an FIR is filed.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Badal said his party, the Shiromani Akali Dal, would leave no stone unturned in its fight to secure justice in the case.
