New Delhi, April 10, 2026: The Supreme Court of India on Friday refused to grant bail to suspended Punjab Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a corruption case.
A bench led by Surya Kant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, declined to entertain the bail plea at this stage.
However, the court granted Bhullar the liberty to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court again if the trial in the case does not commence within two months. The bench directed that any such application be considered on its merits.
