Chandigarh, April 10, 2026: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed profound shock and deep sorrow following a devastating boat accident in the Yamuna River near Mathura, which has claimed the lives of several pilgrims from Punjab.
The tragedy occurred as a group of 32 residents, primarily from the Jagraon and Moga areas, were traveling toward Vrindavan for a religious pilgrimage. Reports indicate that the boat capsized mid-river, leading to the unfortunate drowning of several devotees.
The Chief Minister has moved swiftly to address the crisis, confirming that he is in constant communication with the Uttar Pradesh government to oversee the situation.
He has assured the public that the Punjab government is working in close coordination with the Mathura local administration to facilitate rescue operations and provide every possible assistance to the survivors.
