Chandigarh, April 24, 2026: Reacting to the departure of two-thirds of Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MPs, BJP Punjab Working State President Ashwani Sharma on Friday said the development raises serious questions over the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and reflects deep internal cracks within the party.
Sharma alleged that such a large-scale exit indicates growing dissatisfaction with Kejriwal’s “authoritarian style” of functioning and signals unrest within AAP’s ranks.
He also targeted Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, calling him a “puppet” and accusing him of diverting attention instead of addressing key concerns arising from the political crisis.
Referring to recent controversies, Sharma said issues involving Swati Maliwal and Raghav Chadha have further dented the party’s credibility and will not be easily forgotten by the public.
Taking a broader swipe at the AAP government, Sharma claimed that Punjab has faced “deception” over the past four-and-a-half years, adding that people who voted for change now feel let down.
