3-Day training for 2nd batch of Census-2027 concludes in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 28, 2026: A three-day training program for the second batch of officials engaged in the Census-2027 has been successfully concluded in Ferozepur district. The training focused on streamlining the house listing and housing census process to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
The sessions were conducted at various locations, including municipal council and nagar panchayat offices in Zira, Makhu, Mallanwala, Mamdot, and Mudki, along with the Cantonment Board Ferozepur and Tehsil Office Ferozepur. The primary objective was to execute the first phase of the census in a scientific and digital manner, laying a strong foundation for subsequent stages.
Providing details, Coordinator Kartik and Assistant Research Officer Tarsem Lal stated that participants from different departments were trained extensively on key aspects of the census. Their queries and field-related challenges were addressed during the sessions. Trainers explained procedures related to house listing, identification of structures, enumeration of households, data collection methods, and record maintenance in a simple and practical manner.
They emphasized that house listing is a crucial phase of the census, forming the basis for all further activities. Therefore, officials must perform their duties with honesty, responsibility, and vigilance.
At the Municipal Council Ferozepur, Municipal Inspector and Nodal Officer (Census) Abhishek, along with field trainers Rupinder Kapoor, Sarbjit Singh Bhawra, Ajay Kumar, and Ritik, highlighted potential field-level challenges such as data collection barriers, communication issues with residents, and technical difficulties. Practical solutions were also discussed.
Special emphasis was laid on the use of modern digital tools to make data collection faster, easier, and more transparent. Officials noted that accurate and reliable census data is essential for shaping future government policies, planning, and development initiatives.
The training concluded with a call for teamwork and dedication to ensure the smooth and successful completion of Census 2027 without any hindrance.
