Pak based Foundation remembers Bhagat Singh’s Comrade Sukhdev Thapar on 118th Birth Anniversary
Ferozepur, May 15, 2026: In a heartfelt tribute across the border, the Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan organized a dignified ceremony at the Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar to commemorate the 118th birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter and close associate of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony attended by lawyers, political and social activists, students, and citizens from various walks of life, all of whom paid rich tributes to the revolutionary icon and his unparalleled sacrifice for freedom.
The programme was presided over by Chairman of Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi. Prominent personalities present on the occasion included Mian Ghulam Ullah Khan Joiya, Advocate Supreme Court, Syed Waqar Hussain Shah Jangi, Central Secretary General of Pakistan Democratic Party, Muhammad Waheed Qureshi Advocate, Dr. Shahid Naseer, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Bhatti Advocate, and Mian Mohammad Tariq Amin Advocate.
Speakers at the event highlighted the courage, patriotism, and revolutionary struggle of Sukhdev Thapar, stating that revolutionaries like Sukhdev Thapar, Bhagat Singh, and Shivaram Rajguru laid down their lives to awaken the people of the subcontinent against slavery, injustice, and oppression. They said their sacrifices continue to inspire generations to stand for freedom, equality, and human dignity.
In his message to the media, Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi said Sukhdev Thapar was not merely an individual but a symbol of resistance, fearless thought, and unwavering courage against tyranny. He remarked that such personalities are born once in centuries and are remembered forever in the golden pages of history.
He further emphasized that today’s youth should draw inspiration from the ideology and sacrifices of Sukhdev Thapar and Bhagat Singh to build a society based on justice, equality, liberty, and humanity.
The speakers also underlined that the revolutionary heroes of the subcontinent rose above religion, caste, language, and ethnicity in their struggle for the rights of oppressed people and for the cause of humanity.
The participants reaffirmed their resolve to continue raising their voices against oppression, exploitation, injustice, and tyranny, calling it the true tribute to the sacrifices of the great martyrs.
