  Jalandhar, May 31, 2026: Punjab Police has claimed that Sharanjit Singh a cousin of RTI Activist and Lawyer Simranjeet Singh is accused in killing him.over a dispute of Rs. 5 lakh.
  
  Police claimed hat duo had come to visit a plot in Maheru near Phagwara. When they were inspecting plot, an arguments started between the two over Rs. 5 lakh which Simranjeet owed to Sharanjit and in heat of anger Sharanjit shot him dead from point black range from behind. He died on the sport.
  
  Though five persons had accompanied Sharanjit but he alone fired at Simranjeet.
