Haryana: Orange alert issued in 10 districts for storms, rain and lightning

Chandigarh, June 4, 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for 10 districts of Haryana, warning of thunderstorms, rain, strong winds and lightning across large parts of the state.
The alert has been issued for Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Kaithal, Sonipat, Panipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram and Faridabad, where wind speeds of 50-60 kmph are expected along with thunderstorms and the possibility of lightning strikes.
The weather department has also placed Sirsa, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Nuh, Palwal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula under a Yellow Alert.
These districts are likely to experience dust storms and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 40 and 50 kmph, officials said.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions, avoid sheltering under trees during thunderstorms and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.
