Grey-coloured Chinese drone seized near Indo-Pak Border in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 5, 2026: A grey-coloured drone, suspected to be of Chinese origin, was recovered from the Mamdot area near the Indo-Pak border during a routine patrol by the Border Security Force (BSF).
According to official information, Inspector Krishan Chander, Officiating Company Commander of 158 Battalion BSF, Border Out Post (BOP) Jalloke, informed his senior officers after the drone was recovered during patrolling operations in the area.
Based on the report submitted by Inspector Krishan Chander, a case has been registered against unidentified persons under Sections 26, 27, 28 and 30 of the Indian Aircraft Act. The recovered drone has been taken into possession for further examination.
The investigation has been entrusted to Investigating Officer Sukhchain Singh, to probe all possible angles, including whether the drone was used for smuggling narcotics across the border, the identity of the persons involved, and whether any consignment was delivered or received through the drone. Investigators will also examine the intended destination and disposal of any such consignment.
Police and security agencies are conducting further investigations to ascertain the origin, purpose and operational details of the recovered drone.
