Amritsar (Punjab), June 10, 2026: An Amritsar court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia’s bail plea to June 11 in connection with a case related to the alleged storming of Majitha police station.
The court, however, provided relief to Majithia’s legal advisor, Advocate Bikramjit Singh Bath, after the Special Investigating Team (SIT) informed the court that he had visited the police station solely in his professional capacity as a legal counsel and should not be treated as an accused in the case.
Following the SIT's submission, the court declared Bath innocent in the matter, leading to the withdrawal of his bail application.
The case pertains to allegations that Majithia and several supporters entered the Majitha police station to secure the release of a detained party worker, Jobanpreet Singh. An FIR was registered against Majithia, Bath and several others, including some unidentified individuals.
