Chandigarh, June 14, 2026:The weather has remained pleasant across Punjab and Chandigarh over the past few days, with rainfall and hailstorms bringing significant relief from the heat.
As a result, the state's maximum temperature has fallen by up to 8.2 degrees Celsius below normal. Bathinda recorded Punjab’s highest temperature at 35.4°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), humidity and temperatures are expected to rise gradually from June 14 and may persist until June 19. However, residents are likely to continue experiencing some relief from extreme heat conditions.
The department has issued a rain alert for eight districts—Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, and Mansa—where light to moderate rainfall is expected today.
Weather officials said rainfall activity across the state is likely to decrease significantly due to changing western disturbance conditions. While most areas may witness cloudy skies, only isolated pockets are expected to receive light showers in the coming days.
