Amritsar (Punjab), June 20, 2026: BJP Chief Nitin Nabin is set to begin his three-day visit to Punjab from today, in what is being seen as a politically significant move ahead of the state assembly elections scheduled for next year.
On the first day of his tour, Nabin will start his visit with paying obeisance at the sacred Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar, marking a religious and symbolic beginning to his Punjab outreach.
Following his visit to Amritsar, the BJP chief will travel to Jalandhar and Ludhiana, where he is expected to review the party’s organizational structure and assess its ground-level preparedness in the state.
According to party sources, the visit is aimed at strengthening the BJP’s foothold in Punjab and energizing the cadre at a crucial political juncture. The tour is also being closely watched in political circles amid ongoing speculation regarding a possible alliance between the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal. However, observers believe that this high-profile visit may help put such speculation to rest, at least for the time being.
The BJP leadership is expected to focus on direct interaction with local leaders, booth-level workers, and community representatives during the visit, with an emphasis on expanding the party’s outreach beyond urban strongholds.
Further details of the itinerary for the remaining two days are awaited.
