World Blood Donor Day : Joint Venture of Press Club Ferozepur and Mayank Foundation
SSP Bhupinder Sidhu applauds blood donors as Ferozepur campl collects 84 Units
Ferozepur, June 20, 2026: A voluntary blood donation camp organised to mark World Blood Donor Day by the Press Club Ferozepur and Mayank Foundation, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of District Civil Hospital, Ferozepur, received an overwhelming response, with 84 units of blood collected.
SSP Ferozepur Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, who was the chief guest, appreciated the joint initiative of the two organisations and praised the commitment of voluntary blood donors. He said blood donation is among the greatest humanitarian services as a single unit of blood can help save multiple lives, especially in cases of accidents, surgeries, cancer, thalassemia and other medical emergencies.
The camp witnessed inspiring participation from families. The Malhotra family trio — Shavinder Malhotra and his children Anshika Malhotra and Aseem Malhotra — donated blood together. Aseem, who donated blood for the first time after turning 18, became a role model for young people by taking part in this noble cause.
Another family that encouraged community participation was Mrs. Neelam, Balram and their son Aneesh, who jointly donated blood and motivated others to contribute towards saving lives.
Press Club Ferozepur President Gaurav Manik and project coordinators Arun Arora and Deepak Mathpal said this was the second consecutive blood donation camp organised jointly by Press Club Ferozepur and Mayank Foundation. They expressed gratitude to donors, volunteers, doctors and medical staff for making the event successful.
The organisers highlighted that blood cannot be manufactured artificially and can only be obtained through voluntary donations. They said regular blood donation not only supports patients in need but also strengthens the spirit of social responsibility and community service.
