In a major initiative to empower women and promote grassroots entrepreneurship, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu today distributed cheques and certificates to women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at the District Administrative Complex, Fazilka.
The awards were presented under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme as part of the State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Awards.
Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs and SHGs Honoured
During the ceremony, individuals and SHGs making exceptional contributions in various categories were felicitated for their achievements.
The Nari Shakti Self-Help Group of Dangar Khera received the Punjab Women SHG Excellence Award. Surekha Chhabra of Chhabra Bartan Store was honoured with the Mahila Udyam Shakti Award in recognition of her entrepreneurial success.
Additionally, Baba Bhoomanshah Aajeevika SHG (Dabwala Kalan), Laddu Gopal SHG (Kera Khera), and Kumkum Aajeevika SHG (Kera Khera) were presented with the Empowered Enterprise Awards for their remarkable social impact and business initiatives.
District Industries Centre Led the Selection Process
The entire selection and award distribution process was carried out under the able guidance of Jaswinderpal Singh, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Fazilka.
The event was coordinated and managed by Nirvair Singh, Functional Manager and Nodal Officer for the RAMP Scheme.
Among those present on the occasion were Akashdeep Singh, DPM, PSRLM, Balwinder Singh, Clerk, and Narinder Singh, Clerk.
Administration Reaffirms Commitment to Women’s Economic Empowerment
Speaking on the occasion, the officials said that these awards reflect the administration's commitment to promoting financial independence among women and strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the region.
They emphasized that encouraging women-led enterprises and Self-Help Groups will contribute significantly to inclusive economic growth and sustainable rural development.
