The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, has intensified field monitoring across the state to ensure the effective implementation of the ongoing House-to-House Enumeration under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls. Senior officers from the Chief Electoral Office are undertaking district visits to closely supervise the field exercise, review progress, interact with election machinery, and ensure strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission.
As part of this statewide monitoring initiative, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, visited Malout and Sri Muktsar Sahib to review the ongoing enumeration process. During the visit, he held detailed discussions with the District Election Officer and field officials, reviewed the progress of door-to-door verification, and stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and inclusiveness.
He reiterated the core objective of the Special Intensive Revision, emphasizing that no eligible voter should be left out and no ineligible entry should be included in the electoral roll. He directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisory officers to carry out the enumeration meticulously and ensure that every eligible elector is covered during the house-to-house exercise.
Similarly, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Navneet Kaur Bal, PCS, visited Kapurthala district, where she reviewed the progress of the House-to-House Enumeration and assessed the functioning of the field teams. She interacted with election officials and BLOs, reviewed the implementation of operational guidelines, and emphasized timely completion of the exercise while maintaining complete transparency and accuracy in voter verification.
In another field visit, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Amandeep Bansal, IAS, visited SAS Nagar (Mohali) district to monitor the ongoing House-to-House Enumeration under SIR Punjab 2026. He reviewed the pace of the enumeration drive, examined field-level implementation, and directed officials to ensure that all eligible electors are facilitated in completing the Enumeration Forms without inconvenience.
A senior officer of the Chief Electoral Office stated that regular field reviews by senior officers are significantly strengthening the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision across Punjab. The visits provide valuable on-ground feedback, help resolve operational issues promptly, reinforce accountability at every level, and ensure uniform implementation of Election Commission guidelines throughout the state.

The officer added that the House-to-House Enumeration is a crucial component of the Special Intensive Revision 2026, aimed at preparing an accurate, inclusive, and error-free electoral roll. Booth Level Officers continue to visit every household to facilitate electors in filling Enumeration Forms and verifying electoral details.
The Chief Electoral Office has urged all eligible citizens to cooperate with the Booth Level Officers during their visits and provide the required information and documents, wherever applicable, to help maintain a comprehensive and authentic electoral roll. Active public participation, coupled with continuous monitoring by senior officers, is expected to further strengthen the integrity and credibility of the electoral registration process in Punjab.
