Ferozepur, June 29, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ferozepur district unit has taken strict disciplinary action against four leaders for alleged anti-party activities and expelled them from the party for six years. The decision was taken during a joint meeting of the BJP district core committee, district team and disciplinary committee.
BJP Ferozepur District President Surjit Singh Baath said that party discipline and organisational principles would be maintained at all costs. He said contesting against official party candidates or supporting activities against the party would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Baath said that during the Municipal Council/Municipal Committee elections, some leaders either contested independently or supported their family members who entered the electoral fray as independent candidates, which was considered a clear violation of party discipline.
The leaders expelled from the BJP for six years are:Rajesh Kumar Nindi (Ward No. 23) – His wife Jeevan Bala contested the election from Ward No. 23 as an independent candidate.Ashwani Grover (Ward No. 28) – He contested the election from Ward No. 28 as an independent candidate.Manish Dhawan (Ward No. 27) – His wife Channpreet Dhawan contested the election from Ward No. 27 as an independent candidate.Rohit Dhawan (Ward No. 25) – His wife Ritu Dhawan contested the election from Ward No. 25 as a Shiromani Akali Dal candidate.
Baath said BJP is a disciplined, ideological and cadre-based organisation where every worker and office-bearer is required to follow the party’s policies, decisions and directives.
On being asked about the action against the husband of a BJP member whose wife had contested the Municipal Corporation election, Baath said that if any party member was found involved in anti-party activities, campaigning against official candidates or misusing party banners and publicity material, action would also be taken against such persons as per party rules.
He added that maintaining party unity, discipline and organisational strength was essential, and strict action would continue against anyone violating party norms in the future.
The meeting was attended by BJP office-bearers and core committee members and others.
