The medal haul highlights India’s growing competitiveness in advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, creative industries and service-sector skills.
Congratulating the contingent, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said the achievement reflects the talent, determination and hard work of India’s Skill Champions, mentors, experts and industry partners.
“Team India’s outstanding haul of three gold, one silver and one bronze medals is a proud moment for the nation. Beyond the medals, the competition has provided invaluable exposure to global standards and strengthened our preparations for the WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai,” he said.
The Indian contingent comprised 30 members, including 15 competitors and 15 experts, who represented the country in 15 skill categories spanning advanced manufacturing, construction trades, digital technologies, creative industries and service-sector skills.
The competition simulated the WorldSkills environment, with participants assessed through the internationally recognised Competition Information System (CIS). The event gave Indian competitors hands-on experience of competing under global standards, adapting to international equipment and working under real-world competition pressure.
India competed in categories including 3D Digital Game Art, Additive Manufacturing, Automobile Technology, Beauty Therapy, Bricklaying, Cloud Computing, Floristry, Graphic Design Technology, Hairdressing, Health and Social Care, Industrial Mechanics, Painting and Decorating, Restaurant Service, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Web Technologies.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said India’s performance at the Global Skills Challenge reflects the objectives of the Skill India Mission, which seeks to build a future-ready workforce through world-class training, industry partnerships and international exposure while positioning Indian youth among the world’s leading skilled professionals.
