New Delhi, July 1, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah over what he claimed was the latter's failure to visit the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya since the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, alleging that the BJP has used Lord Ram for political gains without genuine devotion.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal claimed that 891 days had passed since the consecration of the Ram Mandir and alleged that Amit Shah had not visited the temple for darshan despite referring to Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir on multiple occasions in his speeches and public addresses.
Kejriwal said he had verified publicly available information and claimed there was no record of the Union Home Minister visiting the temple. He alleged that Shah had invoked Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir more than 42 times in speeches and interviews, primarily during election campaigns.
The AAP chief posed five questions to Amit Shah, asking why he had not visited the Ram Mandir, whether he wished to seek the blessings of Ram Lalla, and whether he believed Lord Ram to be God.
He further alleged that the BJP had used the name of Lord Ram to gain political power and accused its leaders of lacking genuine faith.
Highlighting the AAP government's initiatives, Kejriwal said the Punjab government was organising Bhajan Sandhyas across cities in the state and facilitating free pilgrimages to various religious destinations. He also announced that a grand Luv-Kush Temple and Mata Janaki Temple would be constructed in Amritsar.
Kejriwal asserted that his party was committed to promoting Sanatan values through religious, social and public welfare initiatives, and urged Amit Shah to visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and seek the blessings of Lord Ram.
