Breaking: ECI revises SIR Schedule for Punjab

Chandigarh, July 15, 2026: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls in Punjab, issuing fresh directions to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab. The revision will be carried out with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for voter eligibility.
According to the revised programme, the timeline for the rationalisation of polling stations and the publication of the electoral roll has been modified.
As per the new schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification of eligible voters until August 3, 2026.
The draft electoral roll will be published on August 13, 2026, after which electors will be able to file claims and objections for inclusion, deletion or correction of entries until September 12, 2026.
