DSGMC organises Gurmat Samagam to mark the 100th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri
Eminent dignitaries pay glowing Tributes

To commemorate the 100th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri, one of the most distinguished personality of the sikh community, a pioneer of the Gurdwara reform movement, and a founding member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee , the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee organised a special gurmat samagam with great devotion and reverence at the Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka said that the life of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri remains an enduring source of inspiration for the sikh community, exemplifying selfless service, great sacrifice, unwavering dedication, and visionary panthic leadership. He stated that Shaheed Samundri's historic contribution to the gurdwara reform movement and his invaluable role in strengthening sikh institutions will always be remembered with profound respect.
He further informed that the entire DSGMC leadership and team participated in the commemorative programme, paying floral tributes to the revered martyr and bowing in homage to his unparalleled sacrifice for the oanth.
Among those who paid their respects were Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Delhi Cabinet Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SGPC President Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami, along with several eminent political, religious and social leaders, revered saints, and a large gathering of devotees. The dignitaries fondly recalled the panthic services, farsighted leadership, and extraordinary sacrifice of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri.
Addressing the congregation, the speakers observed that the martyrdom of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri, rendered in defence of the Sikh community's religious freedom, the autonomy of Sikh Gurdwaras, and the preservation of Panthic traditions, is inscribed in the golden pages of history. They emphasized that his ideals continue to inspire the younger generation to dedicate themselves selflessly to the service of the Panth and society.
The special commemorative gathering concluded with the entire Sangat paying heartfelt homage to Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri and collectively reaffirming their resolve to follow the path shown by the great martyr while further strengthening the unity and solidarity of the sikh panth.
