New Delhi, July 31,2026: From emergency assistance and cybercrime reporting to legal aid, mental health support and child protection, several key services for women and children are now accessible through a single platform.
Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi on Friday urged citizens to download the Mission Shakti App, saying it brings essential helpline services together and aims to improve access to safety, assistance and support mechanisms for women and children.
In a post on X, the minister said the app strengthens the government’s commitment to the safety, assistance and empowerment of women and children by providing multiple important services through one platform.
The app provides direct access to the Women Helpline 181, Emergency Response Support System 112, Poshan and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) Helpline 1515, National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Legal Aid Helpline 15100, Tele-MANAS mental health helpline 14416, and Child Helpline 1098.
Annapurna Devi appealed to citizens to download the app and share information about its services with family members and acquaintances so that more people are aware of the support available during emergencies and other difficult situations.
Earlier, the minister highlighted the government’s focus on women-led development, child nutrition and creating a safer environment for women and children through initiatives of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Speaking to ANI, she said the ministry plays a key role in advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women-led development and a developed India.
The minister said around 14 lakh Anganwadi centres are operational across the country and serve nearly nine crore beneficiaries. For children between the ages of three and six, she said, the focus is not only on nutrition but also on preparing them for school.
She added that the Anganwadi network provides Take-Home Ration and conducts awareness programmes for pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls, with a focus on nutrition and health.
Highlighting the importance of public awareness, Annapurna Devi said the government organises Poshan Maah and Poshan Pakhwada every year through a “Whole-of-Government” and “Whole-of-Society” approach.
The ministry is currently working through three major missions—Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya—to strengthen nutrition, protection, safety and support services for women and children.
