Alert police nab drug peddler with 3.54 Kg Heroin, 2 Pistols, 2 mobiles in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 3, 2026: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal weapons, the Ferozepur Police have arrested one person, Gurjeet Singh alias Jeeta, and recovered 3 kg 540 grams of heroin, two .30-bore pistols, four live cartridges and two mobile phones from his possession.
Bhupinder Singh, SSP said, the action was taken as part of the ongoing campaign against drugs and illegal arms. A CIA Staff Zira team, led by Inspector Gurmeet Singh, (32) arrested Gurjeet Singh alias Jeeta, son of Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Khai Pheme Ki, Ferozepur.
The police initially recovered the drone-dropped 3 kg 540 grams of heroin from his possession. A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Sadar Ferozepur Police Station.
During further investigation, the accused allegedly made a disclosure following which the police recovered two .30-bore pistols (Pakistan Make) and four live cartridges, along with two mobile phones.
SSP said further investigation is in progress to trace the source of the contraband and establish the accused’s links with other persons involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms. On scrutiny of his criminal record, Gurjeet Singh alias Jeeta was found to be involved in four cases registered under the NDPS Act of 19 gm and 4.254 kg heroine, at Ferozepur Cantt, Sadar Ferozepur, Ferozepur City and Suratgarh (Sri Ganganagar) police stations
He said, a strict action would continue against drug traffickers and persons involved in illegal possession and supply of weapons.
