New Delhi, September 6, 2026: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), through the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, has officially issued an extraordinary gazette notification announcing the complete list of 40 questions to be asked during the Population Enumeration phase (Household Schedule) for the upcoming Census of India 2027.
The notification, issued under Section 8(1) of the Census Act, 1948 by Registrar General Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, authorizes census enumerators to collect detailed personal, socio-economic, demographic, and identification data from residents across the country.
