  Amritsar, September 20, 2026: Out of two accused who murdered ASI Harjit Singh, one has been killed in an encounter with police on Saturday night.
  
  Amritsar Police Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill said accused Deepak Singh was identified and traced through CCTV footage, technical inputs, tower-dump analysis and human intelligence.
  
  He was killed in encounter in Islamabad area. He was resident of Mulechak village.
  
  Hunt is on for second accused.
  
  Police said that accused Deepak was injured in encounter and was taken to hospital where he died.
