Chandigarh, September 24, 2026: Punjab Government has withdrawn its petition against ED action in GMADA raid case. After long debate in the court, it withdrew its petition.
Additional Solicitor General Satya Pal Jain said that this petition was filed by Deputy Secretary Gautam in which false allegations were levelled that ED has kept GMADA officers captive in office and they were not being allowed to have proper meals. He said that Punjab Government had not given authority to file such petition.
Jain said that officer appointed by the court has given in writing that no officer has been harassed. He also submitted that officials were getting proper facilities, food and time to meet families. No officer complained to the court.
Satya Pal Jain said that this matter is related with a huge scandal and raids have been conducted in Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana, Panchkula and Delhi. He said that files from Punjab go to two leaders from Delhi Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain and after their approval these files move forward. He said that a special room has been kept along with room of Chief Administrator GMADA.
He said that ED has recorded Panchanama in proper format in which details of seized phones, documents and other items has been recorded. He said that this action stopped at 12.30 PM today and at 1.10 PM ED team returned back. He clarified that this was only a survey and next action will be taken by ED later.
