‘Major Revelations Soon’: SAD leader Roop Kaur Sandhu flags alleged exploitation of women in Panthic circles

Chandigarh, September 28, 2026: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and spokesperson Roop Kaur Sandhu has announced that she will make what she described as “major revelations” regarding alleged exploitation and harassment of women in religious and political circles.
In a Facebook post, Sandhu said several women had approached her after she appeared before the media with a woman from Bahrain in connection with allegations surrounding an incident at a serai associated with Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Sandhu claimed that the women who subsequently contacted her had shared allegations involving individuals whom she described as prominent Panthic and political figures in India and abroad. She did not publicly name the individuals in the post.
She said that, subject to her safety, she would disclose their identities along with what she described as evidence in the coming days.
Sandhu also called for thorough screening of individuals associated with Panthic institutions that are connected with political activities, saying that alleged wrongdoing by individuals should not bring disrepute to Sikh institutions.
She further said she would present what she described as “concrete evidence” before the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and seek action against those found guilty in accordance with Panthic traditions.
The latest statement comes amid an ongoing controversy surrounding allegations made by a Bahrain-based woman in Anandpur Sahib. Former SAD leader and SGPC member Amarjit Singh Chawla has also been facing action by the Akal Takht in connection with the matter, while he has denied the allegations and questioned the process followed against him.
