DIG, SSP interact with SBSSU students to strengthen campus safety
Ferozepur, September 28, 2026: With the objective of ensuring a safe and conducive academic environment on the campus and strengthening coordination with the university community, Snehdeep Sharma, Deputy Inspector General, Ferozepur Range, and Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, held an interaction meeting with students and teaching staff of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU) on Monday.
During the meeting, the police officers interacted with students and faculty members and listened to their concerns, demands and problems. Various issues relating to campus security, the surrounding environment, traffic management and further improvement of the academic atmosphere were discussed.
The officers assured the students and teaching staff that necessary and concrete measures were being taken to address the issues raised during the meeting. They said the safety and dignity of students and teachers remained a priority for the police administration.
The police officers also urged students to stay away from drugs and anti-social elements and focus on their studies and research activities. Faculty members were encouraged to continue guiding students and to promptly inform the police about any suspicious activity or issue requiring intervention.
University Vice-Chancellor Dr Suresh Kumar Sharma thanked the district police administration for its support and sought regular police patrolling at the main gate and assistance in traffic management. Registrar Dr Rajiv Arora, senior faculty members and other officials of the district police were also present on the occasion.
Senior university officials, faculty and teaching staff members, local police officers and a large number of students attended the meeting.
