Safai Mitra Safety and Health Camps held across Ferozepur Rail Division
Ferozepur, September 30, 2026: As part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, Ferozepur Division organised a Safai Mitra Safety Camp and Health Camp at the Divisional Hospital, Ferozepur. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Ranjana Sehgal.
Health camps were also organised at various railway stations and health units, including Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar City and Jalandhar Cantt. The main objective of these camps was to ensure the health and safety of Safai Mitras (sanitation workers) engaged in maintaining cleanliness across railway premises.
During the camps, Safai Mitras were provided safety kits and essential protective equipment. Medical check-ups and necessary medical consultations were also arranged to promote their physical well-being and enhance awareness about workplace safety measures.
On the occasion, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Bhupender appreciated the valuable contribution of the Safai Mitras and honoured them by presenting certificates of appreciation.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar said that Ferozepur Division was committed to the welfare and safety of its frontline sanitation workers. He said that Safai Mitras play an important role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across railway premises, and ensuring their health and safety remains one of the division’s priorities.
