Ferozepur’s ‘Himalayan Warrior’ rides 2,342 km on Activa, spreads anti-drug message
Ferozepur, October 6, 2026: At 53, when many people prefer to stay away from physically demanding adventures, Ferozepur resident Rana Harpinder Pal Singh – APRO of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University - has proved that age is no barrier to courage, determination and a passion for exploration. He has completed a challenging solo Himalayan journey of nearly 2,342 kilometres on his Activa scooter, earning appreciation from people in the city as a true “Himalayan Warrior.”
The journey began from Ferozepur on September 23 and concluded with his return to the city on October 5. During the expedition, Rana Harpinder Pal Singh travelled through some of the most challenging and high-altitude routes of the Himalayas, covering Pathankot, Jammu, Srinagar, Sonamarg, Zoji La, Dras, Kargil, the Batalik sector, Lamayuru, Leh and Khardung La.
A memorable highlight of the journey was his visit to Thang village, regarded as one of the last inhabited villages on the Indian side. There, he proudly unfurled the Tricolour, adding a patriotic dimension to his adventurous expedition.
The journey was not limited to adventure and exploration. Rana Harpinder Pal Singh also used the opportunity to spread a strong message against drug abuse, particularly among the youth. He encouraged young people to stay away from intoxicants and adopt a healthy, disciplined and purposeful lifestyle.
Such journeys, he believes, are not merely about covering long distances or conquering difficult terrains. They offer an opportunity to experience new places, cultures and people, while also developing confidence, resilience and the ability to face challenging situations.
His solo Himalayan expedition has demonstrated that determination and a strong spirit of adventure can overcome physical and mental challenges. His feat has inspired many people in Ferozepur, who have hailed him as a “Himalayan Warrior.”
Rana Harpinder Pal Singh said, my journey carries a simple but powerful message: stay fit, explore the world, accept challenges and use personal achievements to inspire society towards positive goals.
