  Chandigarh/New Delhi, October 6, 2026:
  
  The Punjab Government has reportedly moved the Supreme Court, challenging the Punjab and Haryana High Court's yesterday order directing a CBI inquiry into a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This comes a day after Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema explicitly announced that the state government would approach the apex court against the High Court's directive.
  
  An official statement is still awaited.
