Chandigarh, October 24, 2026: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed a comprehensive chargesheet against six accused persons before the NIA Special Court in Mohali, Punjab, in connection with the explosion on the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) railway line between Shambhu and Rajpura stations on April 27, 2026. The blast had previously resulted in the death of a Khalistani operative, Jagroop Singh, while he was assembling explosives.
The six individuals named in the chargesheet are Gurjinder Singh alias Beant Baba, Satnam Singh, Pardeep Singh alias Khalsa, Kulvinder Singh alias Bagga, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, and Manjeet Singh. They have been charged under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act, the Railways Act, the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
According to the NIA's investigation, the arrested accused, along with the deceased Jagroop Singh, were part of a larger terror plot orchestrated by Pakistan-based designated individual terrorist Ranjeet Singh alias Neeta, an operative of the banned outfit Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF). The conspiracy aimed to advance Khalistani ideology, trigger terror, disrupt communal harmony, and destabilize law and order across Punjab.
The agency highlighted that the terror syndicate has been actively involved in illegal acts such as procuring arms, ammunition, and explosives, raising terror funding, and posing a severe threat to the sovereignty, security, and integrity of the nation. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
