AAP Government’s So-Called Education Revolution Stands Completely Exposed by Its Own Actions: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan
Ludhiana, 4 July 2026: Today, during a meeting at Guru Nanak Engineering College in the Ludhiana South Legislative Assembly Constituency (Ludhiana South Vidhan Sabha Halka), National BJP Leader and Senior Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan strongly condemned what he described as the shocking hypocrisy, double standards and administrative failure of the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Punjab over the deployment of government school teachers for the Drug and Socio-Economic Census.
Grewal wrote on his social media platforms, especially X, that the so-called “Education Revolution” repeatedly claimed by the Punjab Government has now been exposed by its own official actions. He stated that while the Government continues to make grand claims about transforming government schools, it is simultaneously pulling teachers out of classrooms and assigning them non-academic duties, thereby undermining the very education system it claims to have strengthened.
Grewal said that according to official orders issued by the district administration, teachers from numerous government schools have been directed to report for Drug and Socio-Economic Census duty on Monday, 6 July 2026. He said that this large-scale deployment raises serious concerns that classrooms may remain without adequate teaching staff during school hours, adversely affecting the education of thousands of students.
Grewal said that the AAP Government had repeatedly promised the people of Punjab that government school teachers would no longer be burdened with non-teaching assignments and would remain dedicated exclusively to educating children. He stated that today’s actions stand in complete contradiction to those public assurances.
Grewal said that, in his view, this is not an Education Revolution but an Education Betrayal. He stated that every teacher removed from a classroom for administrative work deprives students of valuable learning time and weakens the foundation of public education.
He said that the greatest sufferers are children belonging to economically weaker families who depend entirely upon government schools for their future. Wealthy families can afford private schools and private tuition, but poor children have no alternative. According to Grewal, every classroom left without a teacher is a direct injustice to those students who deserve quality education and equal opportunity.
Grewal further said that no government can honestly claim to be reforming education while repeatedly diverting teachers away from classrooms. He stated that governments are elected to strengthen education, not to convert teachers into administrative staff whenever another government programme is launched.
Grewal said that advertisements, publicity campaigns and political slogans cannot educate Punjab’s children. He stated that the real measure of any government’s performance lies in functioning classrooms, uninterrupted teaching, improved learning outcomes and the fulfilment of promises made to parents and students.
He further said that the people of Punjab are fully capable of distinguishing between governance and publicity. According to him, they will judge the Government by the condition of government schools, the availability of teachers in classrooms and the quality of education actually delivered rather than by expensive promotional campaigns.
Grewal demanded that the Punjab Government immediately review the deployment of government school teachers for non-academic assignments wherever such duties disrupt classroom teaching. He urged the Government to ensure that students’ education remains the highest priority and that teachers are allowed to perform the work for which they were appointed.
Concluding his statement, Grewal said that he, along with BJP Punjab, strongly condemns what he considers the Government’s failure to protect classroom education. He said that Punjab deserves honest governance, accountable administration and an education system in which teachers remain inside classrooms teaching students instead of being repeatedly diverted to non-academic duties. He added that the people of Punjab will hold every government accountable for the promises it makes and the policies it implements.
