Ferozepur Court Complex receives fifth bomb threat in a Year; Police conduct intensive search
Sniffer dog squads deployed; email from unknown source being technically examined
Ferozepur, September 12, 2026: Panic gripped the Ferozepur District Court Complex on Saturday after an email from an unknown source threatened to blow up the court premises. It was reportedly the fifth such threat received by the court complex within a year.
Acting swiftly on the information, police teams reached the complex and launched a thorough search operation. Sniffer dog squads were deployed to examine the court buildings, surrounding areas and other vulnerable points. The premises were searched repeatedly as a precautionary measure.
DSP Karan Sharma said the police received information in the morning about an email sent to the court from an unknown address. Immediately, police teams were rushed to the spot and a comprehensive search of the complex was carried out with the help of sniffer dogs.
He said the police were also technically examining the email to trace its source. The earlier threat emails were also being investigated from the technical angle, he added, saying that such investigations could take some time.
“The entire police team is deployed here and complete security arrangements are in place. Security personnel are already stationed at the court complex round the clock. At present, the situation is peaceful,” the DSP said.
He said no suspicious or objectionable item had been found during the search. Police teams were conducting repeated searches to ensure that nothing had been overlooked.
The threat led to heightened security at the court complex, while precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of judges, lawyers, litigants and other visitors.
Meanwhile, the proceedings also continued as per the arrangements at a Lok Adalat scheduled at the court complex, after completion of search operation.
The police have initiated further investigation into the threatening email and are making efforts to technically trace its origin and identify the person or persons behind it.
