Ferozepur (Punjab), February 10, 2026: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Monday led a high-profile anti-drug foot march in the border district of Ferozepur, giving fresh momentum to the state’s fight against drug abuse.
The march stood out not only for its scale but also for the participation of prominent political and religious figures.
The key highlight of the event was the presence of Radha Soami Satsang Beas chief Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, whose participation alongside the Governor drew widespread attention.
Baba Dhillon had recently sparked political debate after defending Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia against allegations, and his appearance at the march added a new layer of public and political interest.

Joining them was Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, who was seen walking alongside the Governor and the Dera chief, along with senior BJP leader Ashwani Sharma.
Political analysts noted that the joint presence of leaders from different political backgrounds at a social cause like anti-drug awareness sends a strong signal for cross-party cooperation in Punjab.
Speaking at the march, Governor Kataria highlighted growing concerns over drug smuggling via drones from across the Pakistan border, particularly impacting districts such as Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot.
He also warned of a larger narcotics trafficking nexus operating in the region, emphasizing the urgent need for coordinated action.
