Indian Army and Mayank Foundation Jointly Plant 100 Fruit-Bearing and Shade-Giving Saplings on World Environment Day
Ferozepur, June 5, 2026: Marking World Environment Day, Mayank Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian Army, organized a special tree plantation drive in Ferozepur Cantonment, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and a greener future. During the campaign, 100 fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings were planted at various locations.
The plantation drive included a variety of trees such as mango, orange, amla, guava, and lemon. Along with planting new saplings, Foundation members also inspected the trees planted during last year’s campaign to assess their growth and maintenance. Participants emphasized the importance of regular care and protection of planted trees to ensure their survival.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayank Foundation Secretary Rakesh Kumar said that protecting the environment is one of the most pressing needs of the present time. He noted that increasing pollution and climate change pose serious challenges, and every individual should make tree plantation a part of their life. He stressed that if every person plants and nurtures at least one tree, it can bring about a significant positive change in environmental conservation.
The Foundation also promoted the message “Each One, Plant One”, urging citizens to actively participate in tree plantation activities. Rakesh Kumar highlighted that trees not only help maintain a clean and healthy environment but also lay the foundation for a safer and healthier future for coming generations.
Among those present were Rajiv Setia, Principal Sanjeev Tandon, Arun Arora, Sumesh Gumbar, Kamal Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Manoj Gupta, Sandeep Sehgal, Rakesh Maher, Gaurav Bhalla, Deepak Mathpal, Gursahib, Arunav Vashisht, Aarav Sharma, Inderjit Monga, Deepak Sharma, and other members of the Foundation.
