Chandigarh: Firing at Chemist shop in Sector 11; One dead; Watch Video

Chandigarh, June 13, 2026: A cashier was killed after unidentified assailants opened fire at a medical store in Sector 11 on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, two masked attackers entered Shri Kumar Medical Store posing as customers at around 2:30 pm. The assailants, who had arrived on a scooter, allegedly opened fire with automatic weapons before fleeing the scene.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers fired around seven rounds, leaving store manager and cashier Janaki critically injured. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced and is being examined by investigators. Following the shooting, Chandigarh Police sealed the entire market block and launched a probe based on CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts. Police are working to identify and trace the attackers.
