21 Eminent Punjabi artists honoured with 'Virse de Waris' Award at Chandigarh Cultural program

Chandigarh, July 27, 2026: The Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy recently organised a grand cultural evening at Rani Lakshmibai Hall, Sector 38, celebrating Punjab's rich artistic and cultural heritage.
Held under the leadership of Academy Chairperson Sukhi Brar and organised in collaboration with the Punjabi Cultural Institute, the event honoured 21 distinguished personalities with the prestigious 'Virse de Waris' award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Punjabi music, folk art and culture.
Among those felicitated were renowned singers and artists Hans Raj Hans, Pammi Bai, Biba Ranjit Kaur, Sadiq (Mohammad Sadiq), Amar Noori, Nirmal Rishi and several other prominent figures from the Punjabi cultural fraternity.
Expressing their gratitude after receiving the honour, the awardees thanked the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy and Chairperson Sukhi Brar for the recognition. They described the award as a matter of pride and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving and promoting Punjab's rich cultural legacy.
The event also showcased the talents of students from the Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy, who captivated the audience with vibrant live performances reflecting Punjab's traditional music, dance and folk culture. Their performances received enthusiastic applause from both the audience and the senior artists present.
