FEROZEPUR, July 29, 2026 : Verka Ferozepur Dairy organised a free milk testing camp near Gandhi Garden, Ferozepur Cantonment, to create awareness among consumers about the quality, purity and nutritional value of milk.
Chashan Singh, Marketing Head informed that during the camp, a total of 24 milk samples brought by consumers were tested of which the milk had been purchased from different sources. While testing revealed variations in quality, water adulteration was detected in some of the samples and found to be lower than expected.
Dr. Surjit Singh Bhadour, General Manager, Verka Ferozepur Dairy, said the camp highlighted that many consumers were not fully aware of the nutritional quality of the milk they purchase. He advised consumers to remain vigilant about milk quality, particularly its fat and protein content.
He said consumers often pay a higher price for milk but may not get the nutritional quality they expect, putting an unnecessary burden on their pockets while also compromising nutritional value.
Verka officials said milk supplied by the dairy undergoes stringent quality checks before reaching consumers, with its nutritional contents maintained according to the prescribed standards mentioned on the packets.
The camp received an encouraging response, with consumers showing keen interest in milk quality and dairy products.
Dr. Bhadour said similar free milk testing camps would continue to be organised to create greater consumer awareness. He added that consumers can bring samples of the milk they use to the Verka Ferozepur Dairy laboratory and get them tested free of cost.
