Ferozepur, August 25, 2026: Continuing its drive against ticketless and irregular travel, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway conducted a special ticket checking campaign through a ‘Bus Raid’ at Kotkapura and Moga railway stations on Monday.
The campaign was carried out on the directions of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Basant Kumar. During the drive, joint teams of ticket-checking staff and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted surprise checks at various stations and trains.
As many as 200 passengers were detected travelling without valid tickets or with irregular tickets during the checking operation. A total railway revenue of Rs 1,12,400 was recovered from the passengers.
Explaining the ‘Bus Raid’ operation, Basant Kumar said the ticket-checking teams travelled by bus to different stations in advance and conducted surprise checks on trains passing through the stations as well as within the station premises. The special operation was aimed at effectively curbing ticketless and irregular travel at Kotkapura and Moga.
The Ferozepur Division has appealed to passengers to always travel with a proper and valid ticket and cooperate with railway staff during ticket checking. The division said such special ticket checking drives would continue in the coming days to discourage ticketless travel and ensure a better and more convenient travel experience for passengers.
