Chandigarh, June 23, 2026: An eight-day AICTE Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Universal Human Values-II is underway at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran.
Hosted by CGC College of Engineering (COE) in collaboration with the Department of Student Welfare, the programme seeks to bring educators together to reflect on the role of values in contemporary education.
Organized under the guidance of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Coordination Committee for Induction Program (NCCIP), the FDP is being led by distinguished members of the AICTE team comprising Dr. Priya Darshni (Resource Person), Dr. Manisha Gupta (Co-Facilitator), and Observer Sh. Bidhi Chand.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director; Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director-Academics; Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar, Director-Student Welfare and Alumni Affairs; Dr. Anuj Kumar Gupta, Director-Principal, CGC-COE; and Dr. Palki Sahib Kaur, Director-Principal, CCT, CGC Landran, along with faculty members, staff and participants from institutions across the region.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar emphasized, “Education today must go beyond technical expertise. It should cultivate values that inspire ethical conduct, mutual respect, and social responsibility. This FDP, thoughtfully initiated by AICTE, is a commendable step toward nurturing educators who can instill these principles in their students.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Rajdeep Singh remarked, “Universal Human Values provide a framework for holistic learning. By encouraging self-exploration and dialogue, we can help faculty and students alike discover happiness, prosperity, and harmony in both professional and personal life. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to AICTE for championing such initiatives that strengthen the foundation of value-based education.”
Designed to prepare faculty members for teaching UHV-I and UHV-II courses effectively, the FDP also aims to foster a conducive environment for holistic, value-based education within institutions. Day one highlighted how self-exploration and dialogue can help participants gain a deeper understanding of happiness, prosperity, harmony, and ethical living, integrating these principles into everyday life.
Over the next seven days, the programme will feature thoughtful discussions, reflective activities, and experiential learning sessions under the guidance of NCCIP-AICTE resource persons. This initiative will support faculty in delivering UHV courses effectively while nurturing a culture of holistic education across institutions.
