ADC cleanliness drive under 'Mission Clean Punjab' in Ferozepur and Talwandi Bhai
Ferozepur, June 23, 2026: As part of the Mission Clean Punjab campaign launched under the directions of Punjab Local Government Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ferozepur, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, conducted surprise inspection visits of Municipal Councils Ferozepur and Talwandi Bhai.
Under the campaign, officials across Punjab have been directed to carry out cleanliness and other related inspections in their respective cities between 7 am and 8 am daily. Following these directions, Dr. Amandeep Kaur visited key areas of Ferozepur city early morning and reviewed sanitation arrangements.
During her visit to Mall Road, near Aggarsain Chowk, Solid Waste Management Plant and MC Park, she inspected various activities including sweeping, door-to-door garbage collection, waste segregation, composting of wet waste, recycling of dry waste, functioning of MRF and baling machines, horticulture activities, wet waste shredders and other sanitation equipment.
She issued necessary instructions to ensure that cleanliness operations are carried out more effectively and smoothly. During her visit to MC Park, she directed officials to further improve cleanliness and beautification of the park.
Later, Dr. Amandeep Kaur inspected Municipal Council Talwandi Bhai and reviewed cleanliness arrangements, sewerage facilities, roads and streets in different areas of the town. She also visited the Solid Waste Management Plant of Talwandi Bhai and appreciated the efforts of the municipal officials for efficient waste management.
She praised the arrangements at the plant, where around 5 tonnes of daily garbage generated from Talwandi Bhai city is being processed under one roof. She also inspected the production of compost from wet waste, recycling of reusable material and the machinery installed for solid waste management.
ADC appreciated the dedication of the Talwandi Bhai Municipal Council team and emphasized maintaining the same standards in sanitation management.
During the inspections, Executive Officers Poonam Bhatnagar (Municipal Council Ferozepur) and Jagdish Garg (Municipal Council Talwandi Bhai), Superintendent Sanitation Sukhpal Singh, Sanitary Inspector Rustam Sodhi, Programme Coordinator Suresh Kumar, Simranjit Singh, Gurdev Singh, Balraj Singh and other officials and employees of both municipal councils were present.
